Evelyn Parks Obituary

Evelyn Jean Parks, aged 76, passed away at her home in West Seattle on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born on August 1st, 1942 in Bensenville, Illinois to Auburn and Evelyn Parks.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Auburn and Evelyn, her brother Donald and sister June Parks.  Jean is survived by her sister Nance Greene of Orange County, California and her brother Auburn Parks Jr., (Linda) of Itasca, Illinois.  She was a beloved Aunt of Mark, Jim (Laura), Sue and Rich (Trish) Greene, Karen Stanley, Julie West and LIz (Paul) Provencio and Beth (Brian) Egofske, Auburn III and Michael Parks.  Jean was a great Aunt to Aidan, Devin and Gavin Greene, Matthew Greene, Evan West, Helena and Rafe Provencio.

Having lived in West Seattle for over 40 years, Jean will be missed by many friends and neighbors.

Jean was a graduate of the University of Illinois and received her Masters of Nursing from the University of  Washington.

Jean pursued a career in nursing which included teaching at  Highline Community College and eventually retiring from the Veteran's Hospital of Seattle.

Jean also served in the United States Air Force Reserves as a flight nurse, serving in Desert Storm, as well as training fir a NASA study and retired as a lieutenant colonel.

Jean enjoyed traveling, camping with her friend Cathy Philips and the RV women's club, and a collecting charities that were close to her heart.

There will be a private service held at a later date.
