Eleanor (Anderson) Nessly, 69, of Seattle WA, passed away on March 28, 2019 at home in the arms of her loving husband, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Eleanor was born in Seattle, Washington on June 21, 1949, daughter of the late Edward and Cleone Anderson. Eleanor married her husband Robert (Bob) Nessly on June 30 1973, and they were happily married for over 45 years. She is survived by her husband Bob, and her two sons Robert (wife, Rebecca) and Daniel (wife, Holly). She is also survived by her sister Carolyn; brother Adrian; and many nieces and nephews, and their children.
Eleanor attended grade school through high school in West Seattle, where she lived her entire life. She graduated from the University of Washington with both her bachelor's and master's degrees in 1979, majoring in clothing, textiles, and art. Her master's thesis focused on clothing for the disabled.
Eleanor was a member of West Side Presbyterian Church of over 40 years, then a member of Gatewood Baptist Church for 10 years, and then back to West Side Presbyterian Church until she passed. For many years she enjoyed making floral arrangements for the church.
Eleanor loved to sew, making clothing for herself and her family. She also sewed doll clothes at Christmastime for the Union Gospel Mission for many years. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining, and playing board games; Scrabble was her favorite.
Eleanor is buried at Tahoma National Cemetery.
