Catherine N (Rina) Tarabochia

Catherine (Rina) Tarabochia, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 13, 2019 and entered into Heaven to join our Savior, her parents, brother and two sisters.

Rina was born on Sansego Island (Susak, Croatia) on March 24, 1936. She endured the many hardships that came along with growing up during WWII. She married Matt in 1956 and had two sons on the island. Longing for a better life, she headed for Seattle with Matt and the boys to be near her brother, Martin and other relatives. While living in West Seattle, she had their daughter and youngest son, completing their family.

Rina had a wonderful life raising her family, attending Holy Rosary Church, working in the fishing industry and enjoying her retirement with an ever growing family. She especially loved gardening, knitting, playing cards with her friends, and watching Mariner games with her husband.

Rina is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Matt and her children; Anthony (Donna), John (Renee), Roseanne, Matt (Beth.) Grandchildren (known as "Nonnie" to her grandchildren); Paul, Angie, Katie, Tanya, Lisa, Andie, Jesse, Kevin and Joseph. Great grandchildren; Riley and Dallas. She is also survived by her sisters, Antoinette, Faye and Maria; sister-in-law, Bernita and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Seattle and NY/NJ areas as well as a host of friends.
