Vicki Theresa Harrington
December 2, 1946 ~ December 12, 2016 (age 70) 70 Years OldVicki Harrington, 70, of Seattle went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2016.
Vicki was born December 2, 1946 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Harold and Margaret Johnson. She spent her childhood through high school years in Grand Forks. She missed and loved all of her family and friends 'back home' and was always planning her next visit.
She met and married David Harrington when she came to Seattle, and loved to tell the story of their meeting and marrying in less than a month, on January 20, 1969 followed by the birth of their daughter Sarah in November of that year.
Vicki began her lifelong career in healthcare in the mid-1970's at United Administrators in Seattle and continued through her 24 year career at Group Health until she retired in 2011. She was thought of as a great teacher and trainer, and a kind, loving co-worker and friend.
Vicki enjoyed spending time meeting up with friends, attending local events and festivals, travelling to see family, music, especially the Beatles (John was always her favorite), collecting teapots, and was a die-hard Seattle Mariners fan and would attend the Opening Day game every year.
Her faith and relationship with Jesus was of the utmost importance in her life. She grew in the Lord over her life in several churches including Westwood Christian Assembly in White Center, Neighborhood Life Center in Burien, and her current loving church home of New Life church in Burien. She was a lifelong example of dedication and love for the Lord and would pray fervently for all of her loved ones, friends and strangers alike.
Vicki is survived by her husband, David, daughter Sarah Viloria and her husband Mario; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews in Washington, North Dakota, Wisconsin and many other places, all whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margaret Johnson, her sister Maxine Twedell, and her brothers Bruce Johnson and Jim Geary.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way, Washington at 9:30 am to be followed by a memorial service at New Life church in Renton at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary's Place in Seattle (1830 9th Ave, Seattle,WA 98101) or Group Health Foundation, Hospice.
