Lorene, eldest daughter of Quincy and Viola Fuller, was born April 10, 1927, in Denver Colorado. The family later moved to Texas. She was raised on a farm where they grew Spanish Peanuts, Pecans and Peaches. Lorene had two sisters and three bothers.
Lorene met her husband of 72 years, Jack Eldridge, on a blind date when he was stationed with the Army in Texas. After they were married, they moved to Portland, Oregon where Jack grew up. Their first two daughters, Pamela and Janet, were born in Portland. Jack was later transferred by Northwest Airlines to Yakima. They then moved to Seattle where their third daughter, Linda was born. They lived in their West Seattle home for fifty eight years.
Lorene was a homemaker taking care of Jack and their daughters. Gardening, cooking, and traveling were some of the activities that she enjoyed. Lorene was involved with the girls in their Girl Scout Troops.
The girls grew up, married and had children of their own. Grandma Lorene spent many years helping with the four grandchildren while their parents were working. Lorene enjoyed attending their sports games, recitals and school productions. She was extremely excited when she learned that she was to became a great grandmother. Her family was the main focus of her life.
Lorene was a member of West Seattle Christian Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of her Christian family. She passed away on February 5, 2018, and left us to take her place in Heaven.
Lorene is survived by her husband Jack, daughters Pamela Blake, Janet Holmer (Steve), Linda Dorough (David), grandchildren Chris Holmer (Nicole), Andrea Holte (Scott), Amanda Dorough, Emily Pearson (Richard) and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 17th at West Seattle Christian Church, 4400 42nd Avenue SW, Seattle, WA 98116.
