Lee R. Rice

U.S. Veteran

Lee (Dad, Papa) Rice left the table for a better dealer June 5th, 2012.

Born July 31st, 1927 to Clyde and Louise Rice in Aberdeen, WA, Lee was the second of four sons. He graduated Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen and entered the Navy to serve during World War II, stationed in the Philippines aboard the USS Belleau Wood. Returning home, he married Lois (McCulloch) on August 31st, 1946 and later became a master carpenter in the Seattle area, building numerous houses by himself including his own in Arbor Heights and a cabin on Mason Lake. He later worked for and retired from Unico Properties.

His passion for wood craft, airplanes and blackjack endeared him to many. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 66 years: Lois; His son, Don and daughter-in-law, Sarah Rice of Seattle, WA; Daughter, Vicki Rice of Shelton, WA; Grandson, Jesse Rice and granddaughter-in-law, Pari Shah of Redmond, WA; Granddaughter, Nikki Rice and grandson-in-law, David Malki of Los Angeles, CA; Brother, Doug and sister-in-law, Janet Rice of Montesano, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made to the American Stroke/Heart Association (www.heart.org/donate) or 1-800-242-8721 and a guest book can be signed at www.howden-kennedy.com. No service will be held, however a celebration of life should happen at every happy hour. Cheers.
